This is a great choice for relative newbies. It's a 13-count canvas so easy to see everything; the color areas are varied but not too small; the threads are used just as they come.

We recommend this for Advanced Beginners—if you're on your second or third project—and beyond.

Frame it! We don't have a frame for this size, but a craft shop should carry frames with 7" x 7" openings.

Framebridge.com offers convenient and reasonably priced custom framing for needlepoint.

Inset it into a pillow.

You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

The following are optional:

• If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), order two pairs of 11-inch stretcher bars and some thumbtacks.
• Needle threaders help thread your needle.
• A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
