Everything in this kit is designed to be easy to handle and stitch: from the large canvas mesh that is easy to see; the lemon design with large areas to practice your stitches, and the 100% merino wool tapestry yarns that are great for beginners.

What’s in the Kit? 

  • Precision-Printed Canvas: A 4.75" x 4.75" design on 10-mesh interlock canvas—the perfect size for a satisfying beginner project. 
  • Easy-To-Use Threads: Appleton's tapestry yarns in 100% merino wool. These are used as a single strand, just as they come, and are the easiest and most forgiving threads to learn with. 
  • Essential Tools: Two stainless steel needles and a needle threader.
  • Step-by-Step Instructions: Clear guidance on how to needlepoint, including an illustration of the finished design to guide you.

    Is This Kit Right For Me?

    A great choice if you are new to needlepoint or looking for an easy, enjoyable beginner project. This kit has a large canvas mesh (big holes), and a simple design, so it is ideal for children and the elderly.

    Finishing Ideas

    Frame It: We have frames on site (see Add Ons below) for 5" x 5" designs. You will also find suitable frames in craft stores.

    You could also stitch this to a tote bag.

    What Else Do I Need?

    You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

    The following are optional:

    • If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional, and it is fine to hold the canvas in your hands), you will need two pairs of 8-inch stretcher bars and some thumbtacks.
