Explore the sumptuous world of Chinese ornamentation of the 1800's. A reproduction of a beautiful chromolithograph pattern from Owen Jones' 1867 book, Examples of Chinese Ornament. The pattern is an intricate design inspired by traditional Chinese ornamentation, found on vases, cloisonné enamel incense burners, and lacquer boxes. 

What's in the Kit: 

  • Canvas: A professionally printed 18 holes per inch mono canvas with a design area 8" x 10". The edges are taped.
  • Threads: A generous quantity of boutique Pepperpot Silk threads
  • Needles: Two Bohin stainless steel size 22 needles
  • Guide: A color card of the stitched design

    What Else Do I Need?

    You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

    The following are optional (see the Add-Ons below):

    • If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), you will need a pair of 12-inch and a pair of 14-inch stretcher bars, and some thumbtacks.
    • Needle threaders help thread your needle.
    • A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
