What's in the Kit:

  • Canvas: A 5" x 5" design area on 13 mesh mono canvas. This is 13 holes to the inch, which means the holes should be easy to see and stitch—a great choice for beginners.
  • Threads: Planet Earth Silk and Milan wool/silk blend threads which are used single ply (just as they come) for easy stitching and smooth stitches.
  • Needles: Two size 20 Bohin stainless steel needles.
  • Guide: A color image of the stitched design.
  • Instructions: How To Needlepoint instructions.

What Else Do I Need?

You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

The following are optional:

  • If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), order two pairs of 8 inch stretcher bars and some thumbtacks.
  • Needle threaders help thread your needle.
  • A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
