A busy woodpecker needlepoint design, reminiscent of Charley Harper's iconic illustrations and stylishly reimagined by artist Renea Thull.

What's in the Kit:

  • Canvas: The design area is 4.75" x 6.75" professionally color-printed onto 18 holes-to-the-inch mono needlepoint canvas.
  • Threads: A generous quantity of gorgeous threads: Pepperpot Silk (single ply), Variegated 6-ply silk, Essentials Silk/Wool blend, and one skein of DMC floss.
  • Stitch guide: The kit includes an image of the stitched design and a summary of the stitches used. The full stitch guide, with a fun variety of optional stitches, can be found here.
  • Needles: Two Bohin stainless steel size 22 needles.
  • Project Bag: A handy zippered project bag

    Is This Kit Right For Me?

    Suitable for intermediate-experienced stitchers because of the decorative stitches.

    Finishing Ideas

    Frame it! We have a black frame option, and you could also source your own. This design can be self-framed or professionally done.

    What Else Do I Need?

    You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

    The following are optional:

    • If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), order a pair of 8 inch and a pair of 10 inch stretcher bars and some thumbtacks.
    • Needle threaders help thread your needle.
    • A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
