Nutcracker Soldier Needlepoint Ornament Kit

Nutcracker Soldier has optional decorative stitches, so some experience is required/recommended if you want to stitch these. This is not designed as a beginner kit, and we recommend that you have stitched prior needlepoint projects.

The design is on 18 holes to the inch canvas, which some people find hard to see.

NB: Finishing materials are not included.

Options for finishing include:

• Self-finish the ornament in our leather ornament holder as shown. We have red and black options.
• Self-finish in one of our wooden ornament frames (two styles; three colors)
• Make it into an ornament by following one of the many videos on Youtube (search "how to finish a needlepoint ornament").
• Find a professional finisher. Etsy is a good place for this.

You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

The following are optional (see the Add-Ons below):

• If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), you will need two pairs of 8-inch stretcher bars, and some thumbtacks.
• Needle threaders help thread your needle.
• A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
