Meet Brenda

Brenda, the founder and designer behind Poppy Monk, discovered needlepoint after moving from New Zealand to the U.S. and searching for calm and connection as a new stay-at-home mom. Drawn to the beauty of hand-painted canvases but frustrated by how hard it was to get started, she had an idea: create kits that make needlepoint modern, approachable, and joyful for everyone.

From her colorful home studio in North Carolina, Brenda designs each kit with a love for vibrant color, playful patterns, and the soothing rhythm of stitching. What began as a personal outlet has grown into a thriving creative business and a welcoming community. Every Poppy Monk kit reflects her belief that stitching should be fun, beautiful, and something anyone can enjoy.
