How To Self-Finish A Needlepoint Jewelry Box
Follow our step-by-step-instructions for inserting your stitched needlepoint design into a box with a 3M adhesive lid.
- Carefully measure the opening and the stitched area of your canvas to make sure you have stitched enough rows so that no unstitched canvas will show in the opening. Stitch another row if you need to.
2. Trim around the canvas 1-2 rows out from the stitches.
3. Using a pair of scissors or sharp knife/cutter, score an "X" from corner to corner on the top layer of the 3M adhesive. Take care not to cut the box.
4. Peel off the adhesive.
5. Align and center the stitched needlepoint on the box lid and firmly press and smooth the canvas onto the adhesive, starting in the middle and working out.
6. Use a blunt knife to lift the box lips and press the canvas edges under. Work around the box until the needlepoint canvas is flat and smooth on the lid.
7. Admire!
