Background—Reversed Diamonds Darning Pattern:
Stitch the background last. Use the threads as a single strand, just as they come.
Work this stitch in horizontal rows as indicated. It is surprisingly light on threads.
Blue Hat Ghost (with sunglasses)—Kalem Stitch:
Also called the knitting stitch, this looks like stockinette and is stitched in columns
Pink Ghost with Bow Dress—Upright Cross stitch:
We included a thinner thread for this because Upright Cross is a thick stitch with multiple stitches occupying a single hole.
Green Ghost with Purse—Nobuko:
Lilac Ghost Bottom Left—Skip Tent stitch:
The flower center on the lilac ghost is a French knot.
All the other stitches are regular Tent stitches.
