Needlepoint Stitch Guide for Hydrangea Basket
This lovely Cape Cod-inspired design is stitched mostly in basketweave. We added a complementary stitch to the background:
Wicker Stitch
Work this in rows of alternating parallel long stitches over 4 intersections.
We also added an Oblique Gobelin stitch to the darker brown basket weavings. This is simply a larger Tent stitch, going up two and over two intersections (twice the size of a regular Tent stitch and compensated at each end by a regular Tent stitch). The model above provides further illustration.
Use the Pepperpot Silk threads as a single strand, just as they come.
