Stitch guide for Lobster on Stripes:

General Notes:
Use the threads as a single strand, just as they come.
We recommend stitching the lobster and plate detail first, and the stripes last.

Lobster Tail:
Long stitches of varying lengths and directions. Free stitch this; there is no right or wrong way.
Pink Plate Edge—Gobelin:
These are simple sloping stitches, mostly up two and over two, although some are longer and some are regular tent stitches to fit in the space. Use the image as a guide or stitch it however it feels right to you.

Stitching the Stripes

Blue Stripe—Alternating Triple Parisian:

Look at the model. Each blue stripe has three rows of the pattern sloping up and to the right, and two rows sloping down and to the right (plus compensating stitches at the top and bottom). Make each blue stripe the same width regardless of how the canvas is printed.

The compensating stitches are in paler pink and these can be worked as you go or filled in at the end. Use your needle to tuck the stitch under the overlying one.

White Stripe—Double Parisian:
Each white stripe has eight rows of this stitch, regardless of what is printed on the canvas.
This stitch can be worked in rows, but the tension will be more even if you stitch it in columns.
