Needlepoint Stitch Guide for Modern Christmas Tree
Use the threads single ply, just as they come.
STITCHES USED ON THIS MODEL:
Background—Lollipop stitch:
This is a decorative open stitch (some of the canvas is left unstitched) worked in columns. You can start on the left or the right of the canvas.
Baubles—Rhodes Circle:
Work this over the number of intersections needed to create small baubles. You may have a different number of stitches than the diagram.
Tree Pot—Wallpaper #2 stitch:
Work the black stitches in columns, and then fill in with the cross stitches.
Star—Long stitches:
Free-stitch long stitches into the center of the star.
Tree—Continental or Basketweave stitch.
