These are the fun stitches used on our model:

Hen’s Breast—Open Feather Stitch:

Work this beautiful stitch in horizontal rows.

 

Hen’s Body—Diamond Leaves:

 

Beak and pink area separating the breast and body— Long stitches

These are stitches of varying length (to fit the space) laid roughly parallel to each other.

All the other stitches are Tent.
