Needlepoint Stitch Guide for Rome at Sunset
- Use the threads as a single strand, just as they come.
- You can start anywhere and stitch in any order. We stitched the Colosseum first, then the trees, and finished with the sunset sky.

Colosseum—Corduroy stitch:
Work this stitch in columns and skip over the "windows" (fill them in later with a Tent stitch).
Green Tree on Left—Alicia's Lace Variation with a center Cross stitch:
This is a variation of Alicia's Lace and is worked in two parts; stitch the outer "frame" of the lace, then fill in with the cross stitches at the end.
Darkest Green Tree—T-Stitch:
Olive Green Tree—Parisian Stitch Variation:
This is smaller than a classic Parisian stitch to fit in the space. It is worked over 3 and over 1. Work it in rows, back and forth.
Bright Green Tree on Right—Nobuko:
Dark Green Tree on Right—Gobelin stitches to the center:
These stitches are over 1 or over 2 to fit the space available.
All the other stitches are a basic needlepoint Tent stitch.
