Needlepoint Stitch Guide For Sledding Hare

This is such a fun needlepoint design with a great variety of decorative stitches.
Sky—Skip Tent:
The diagram shows this worked like a basketweave stitch. You can also work it in rows like Continental.

Snow—Nobuko:

Scarf—Diagonal Mosaic:

Hare Fur (darker) on body and ears—Encroaching Slanted Gobelin:
The hare's left ear has the stitches sloping this way...

We flipped this stitch on the hare's body and right ear:

Paler Fur on Belly—Upright Cross:

Cheeks—Rhodes Circle:
You will probably use fewer stitches than shown in the diagram because the circles are smaller.

All other stitches are Tent stitches.
‼️ The surface embroidery uses 2-ply of the 6-ply cotton floss. Stitch long stitches over the underlying needlepoint like you are drawing the features on with thread.
