Needlepoint Stitch Guide Modern Poinsettias
Use the threads as a single strand, just as they come.
STITCHES USED ON THE MODEL:
Background—Continental or Basketweave stitch:

Red Leaves—Woven stitch:
Darker Green Leaves—Double Staggered Gobelin stitch:
Lighter Green Leaves—Double Brick stitch:
Red Leaf Vein—Long stitch:
Use a single strand of dark red thread and add a single long stitch down the center of the leaves over the underlying stitches.
Flower Centers—Gobelin stitches:
We used tent and gobelin (longer tent stitches) to fill the round spaces.
