Here's how we stitched this woolly cutie pie! We're calling her Molly.

• Background—Diamond Darning Pattern (super, super, super, super fun!). This open stitch leaves some of the canvas showing and creates a pattern that looks like wallpaper.  You can work the stitch in rows (see diagram), or stitch each diamond one at a time and move down and up in diagonal rows. Some stitchers find this method easier to visualise.

• Molly's lovely head and face—Nobuko. 

• Molly's mauve sweater (cashmere, of course!)—Kalem stitch. We moved the stitch over one column for the polo neck to differentiate it:

• All the other stitches are Tent stitches or long Tent stitches.
