Inspired by the elegant simplicity of art drawn by textile designer William Morris, this olive and cream owl is sophisticated and easy-to-stitch.

What's in the Kit:

    • Canvas: A professionally color-printed 18-count canvas with 4" x 4" design

    • Premium Threads: Generous supply of Pepperpot Silk for a smooth, lustrous finish. Use single-ply (just as they come)

    • Needles: Two size 22 Bohin stainless steel needles

    • Instructions: How-to-needlepoint instructions and a color card of the stitched design to use as a reference.

    • Project Bag: A special Poppy Monk zippered project bag to hold all the parts.

Suitable for beginners. Please note this design is on 18 holes-to-the-inch canvas, which some stitchers find hard to see. Designs on larger mesh are here.

What Else Do I Need?

You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

The following are optional:

  • If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), order two pairs of 8-inch stretcher bars, and some thumbtacks.
  • A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
