What's in the Kit:

  • Canvas: A professionally color-printed 5" x 5" design on 18-count canvas
  • Threads: Luxurious Pepperpot Silk and Essentials wool/silk blend for a soft sheen and smooth, easy stitching (use the threads as a single strand). We also include two metallic threads for fun impact, and a skein of DMC floss for surface embroidery.
  • Reference Card: A color card of the finished piece to use as a handy reference. The full stitch guide is available online.
  • Needles:Two Bohin stainless steel size 22 needles
  • Project Bag: A sturdy Poppy Monk zippered bag to keep everything organized
  • Skill Level: Intermediate-Experienced stitchers will enjoy all the stitches in the guide.

    Is This Kit Right For Me?

    SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate-Advanced stitchers, especially if using all the decorative stitches. This design is not recommended as a first project—but relative newbies could stitch this all in Tent stitch (regular needlepoint stitch) and maybe add a few of the decorative stitches.

    Finishing Ideas

    Frame it in one of our 5" x 5" frames (see options below), or source one of your own. You can also fit this into a box with a 5" x 5" opening.

    What Else Do I Need?

    You will need a pair of embroidery scissors suitable for snipping threads. We have several on-site. This is the only essential additional item required.

    The following are optional:

    • If you want to stitch with the canvas held taut on a frame (optional but recommended for ease of stitching), order two pairs of 8 inch stretcher bars and some thumbtacks.
    • Needle threaders help thread your needle.
    • A needle minder is a great tool if you're using a frame because you always know where your needle is!
